The Theater of “Las Lagunas” was commissioned by the City of Mijas (Malaga) to provide the neighborhood of “Las Lagunas” with an important socio-cultural equipment.
Its difficult urban location suggested creating an interior open space that would become the “plaza” that required a building of these characteristics. From this interior space, with the water sheet and the sculpture of Marcelo Arce, you can access both the Theater Room and the galleries of the Library and other cultural facilities. The Theater Room is developed in its patio of armchairs and amphitheater, with three floors of side boxes that make up the interior space, with the vaulted ceiling studied for the sound of the Room and a stage box with its top comb and dressing rooms in panta Bottom of the scene. The use of the white concrete brick in its exterior facades and blue-lead aluminum carpentry, give the whole a formal architectural cleaning and a low maintenance cost.
