The revision of the 1989 General Plan is drafted and its new revision in 2005. Both revisions attempt to complete the new and important demands that have occurred in the city of Antequera.
Its strategic position to be located in the “Centre of the South” as a true “crossroads” between all regional and national road and railway communications and the execution of the new networks of Highways of the 92 and railway networks of the Train of Alta Speed (AVE), have turned this city into a new and powerful “territorial centrality” of the Andalusian region and “connecting axis” with Cordoba-Madrid with the rest of the country. Its main actions of the Business Park, Logistic Park, and the Dry Port, show that thriving demand for productive land. The residential extensions to the West, sealing the growth towards the Vega and the Sierra del Torcal as protected spaces, complete the main actions of both revisions of the general planning of the city.
