The need to create a container capable of covering not only the local cultural demand of the city of Puerto Real, but also its diversification for large summer concerts and other alternative cultural uses of the library and complementary halls, was the main municipal objective for the creation of the Theatre-Auditorium project.
A central scene, with open stands on three sides to form the interior hall, and its fourth side with the possibility of being incorporated into the important adjoining urban space of the Plaza del Mar to make the big summer events possible, was the main objective of the proposal. A spatial structure covered the entire Theatre-Auditorium, merging stage and spectators into a single theatrical space where the entire show took place. The library is located to the side on two levels and is illuminated from above through its glazed galleries, as well as the rest of the rooms and complementary rooms. The construction was carried out using white water-repellent concrete blocks, forming both the interior and exterior cladding of the building to achieve easy maintenance and high durability for the diversified use that is developed in the proposal as a whole.
