The powerful conditions of mobility and territorial relation that have generated the new infrastructures of the transport, have provoked processes of urban transformations and new centralities of territorial scope that force to propose a new re-reading of the new spaces of the city, not only from its scale Urban but also territorial.
The following needs are particularly evident in Cordoba: on the one hand, its role as a link between the centre of the peninsula, with its important territorial centrality in the powerful Seville-Madrid productive axis, as well as its strategic location with the region of Andalusia and the Mediterranean; and on the other hand, the coexistence of two urban models of compact and peripheral cities as a result of its urban dynamics.
The Plan seeks to discover the “new centralities” by defining territorial scale proposals such as the “logistical axis” (with its Transport Center, Exhibition Centers or Business Parks), as well as the “green systems” (Parque Periurbano, Parque Linear or Archaeological Axis) the strong commitment to “nucleize” the whole of their “districts”; And the proposals of urban scale with the residential extensions by West, the “garden city” by levante, and the interventions in the borders of the Historical City.
